About Michael Todrin

Growing up on a farm in rural Massachusetts instilled in me a desire to work with my hands and create ‘real’ things that could be seen and felt. My parents like to joke that they started me on this career path early, telling the story that one of my first ‘toys’ was a hammer, some nails, and a stump in the farm yard that I would endlessly hammer nails into. But in seriousness, on the farm, I could see the importance of building with integrity all around me from an early age: Is the new barn strong enough to withstand the storm and protect the animals? Then you did a good job.

As I became an adult, it became clear that woodworking was a natural choice for my career. Throughout the years, I have been lucky to work with and learn alongside several talented home builders who specialize in custom homes and historical renovations. After a stint managing new home construction at several larger, corporate companies, I knew that I wanted to be more hands on with my customers and take the time to build custom pieces to last. With that, Todrin Fine Woodwork was born.

Today, I live with my wife and dog in a 19th century farm house in Orange County, NC. My shop and our vegetable and flower gardens are my other companions at home. I love to design and build things. When not working on a commissioned project, I am always scheming on a new personal project.

I look forward to meeting you, and working together to turn your ideas into reality!
